Physician's Choice is looking for an SEO/GEO leader to own organic search and generative engine optimization strategy across our DTC and content ecosystem. This is a strategic leadership role blending traditional SEO with the emerging discipline of optimizing for AI-driven answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.), ensuring PC's content and products win visibility across both search and generative surfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and set the SEO and GEO strategy across Shopify DTC, blog/content, and product pages
- Build PC's point of view and measurement framework for GEO, an area where third-party tooling and best practices are still immature
- Lead keyword research, technical SEO audits, on-page optimization, and site health at a strategic level
- Develop and prioritize a content roadmap aligned to search/GEO opportunities in gut health and supplements
- Direct authority-building tactics (backlinks, citations, structured data/schema) supporting both SEO and GEO visibility
- Manage the relationship with the agency of record, setting KPIs and holding them accountable
- Own reporting on organic traffic, visibility and rankings, AI-answer citations/mentions, and downstream conversion/revenue impact
- Partner cross-functionally with performance marketing, creative, and product leadership to align messaging across channels
Requirements
- 5-7+ years in SEO/organic growth, with demonstrated ownership of strategy at a leadership level
- Hands-on experience in GEO/AEO (generative/answer engine optimization) strongly preferred
- Proven track record managing outside agencies and holding them to performance targets
- Experience in DTC/e-commerce, ideally CPG, supplements, or wellness
- Strong analytical fluency — comfortable building and presenting reporting frameworks to leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication for both content strategy and executive-level reporting
- People and agency management experience
Nice to Have
- Background in health/wellness or regulated CPG content (claims-aware content experience)
- Experience building internal GEO measurement frameworks from scratch
- Specific examples of strategy or work that provided measurable results in SEO and GEO (rankings, visibility, etc.)
