Role Summary

Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer for the Sentinel (GBSD) program. The position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production, and deployment of ICBM ground and airborne launch control systems.

Clearance

Secret clearance required for start. Must be a US citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance investigation within the last 6 years.

Travel

Travel up to 10% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), development of requirements and multiple system engineering models.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering teams.
  • Support system, segment, element, and unit‑level trade studies.
  • Define high‑level functional and performance requirements, verification methods, and perform analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements; allocate lower‑level requirements to architectural elements and track them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.
  • Lead the creation, maturation, and presentation of comprehensive technical charts for milestone meetings, demonstrating team readiness.
  • Identify required contractual deliverables and non‑contractual documentation, driving updates to closure.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with diverse engineering design teams to manage the technical baseline.

Basic Qualifications (Level 2)

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 2 years of relevant experience (or 0 years with a master’s degree).
  • US citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and investigative date within the last 6 years.
  • Successful security clearance screening for Enhanced Security Clearances.
  • 1+ year experience developing or reviewing requirements in DOORS or a similar tool.
  • 1+ year experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.

Principal Qualifications (Level 3)

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 1 year of experience with a PhD. Management experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • US citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and investigation within the last 6 years.
  • Successful security clearance screening for Enhanced Security Clearances.
  • 2 years experience developing or reviewing requirements in DOORS or a similar tool.
  • 2 years experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering V‑Model.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Experience with SysML or UPDM modeling languages.
  • Proficiency with DoDAF, UAF, or other modeling frameworks.
  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools.
  • Experience using tools to model large systems with multiple developers.
  • Experience in software and/or hardware design.
  • Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents.
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment.
  • Experience with weapon systems.
  • Experience exporting documentation from a model‑based environment.
  • Experience with Agile Development.
  • Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration.
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs.

Salary

Primary Level: $79,300 – $131,400.
Secondary Level: $98,400 – $163,200.

Work Schedule

9/80 schedule: 9‑hour days Monday‑Thursday, every other Friday off.
