Sensing System Hardware Optical Engineer

Location: Cupertino, CA (100% Onsite)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong background in optics, optical sensors, and optical measurements
• Experience using Python, C/C++, C#, Matlab, or similar for lab equipment control, data collection, and data analysis
• Experience with optical lab equipment such as power meters, spectrometers, cameras/detectors, oscilloscopes, and optical tables
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; solid teamwork and leadership skills
• Prior work experience at client or in client's industry

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with ray-tracing or FDTD software
• Experience supporting volume manufacturing of optical systems (test, validation, FA, etc.)
• Experience with system-level problem solving and root-cause diagnosis

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and execute system integration, test, and validation strategies for manufacturing new optical sensors
• Conduct failure mode analysis and product simulation/analysis using a variety of software tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver state-of-the-art sensing solutions
• Analyze data to enhance product design and manufacturability
• Travel to support design, production, and supplier teams as necessary (10-20% business travel)
