This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI).Job SummaryThe Office of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) is hiring a part-time, contract position to lead the implementation of web accessibility upgrades to ADS’ website. This role will work in collaboration with Site improve’s manual testers and departments’ lead digital content authors to implement accessibility changes.
In addition to implementing changes that require a high degree of familiarity with navigating content management systems, this role will meet with Milwaukee County’s Information Management Systems team monthly to share accessibility upgrades that require greater backend support.Job ManagementThis role will meet with the Internal Communications Project Manager weekly to assess the progress of accessibility updates.Job RequirementsThe skills and experience necessary for this role are:A solid understanding of web development technologies and how they impact the user experience.Experience with HTML is required but developing user interfaces is not.A strong background in web development.Familiarity with mobile and desktop screen readers.
