Our client is a growing RIA within an established CPA and tax planning firm. We are seeking a Private Wealth Advisor to help drive continued growth of the firm's wealth management practice.
This is a business development and client acquisition role with a significant amount of opportunity generated through the firm's existing CPA and tax practice. The advisor will work with referred prospects and firm-generated leads, develop new relationships, and convert qualified opportunities into long-term wealth management clients.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with referrals and qualified leads provided through the firm's CPA and tax planning practice.
- Own the prospect-to-client process, including outreach, discovery meetings, presentations, follow-up, and closing.
- Develop new business through personal networks, professional relationships, referrals, and centers of influence.
- Build relationships with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, executives, and families.
- Identify wealth management opportunities within the firm's existing client base in partnership with the CPA and tax teams.
- Establish and maintain referral relationships with CPAs, attorneys, business advisors, and other professionals.
- Conduct financial and investment discussions and present appropriate wealth management strategies.
- Convert prospects into ongoing advisory relationships and ensure a smooth transition into the firm's client service model.
- Maintain an active pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.
- Work closely with the firm's tax and accounting professionals to provide an integrated wealth planning experience.
- Help develop and execute strategies to grow assets under management and overall revenue.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in wealth management, financial advisory, private banking, or a related role.
- Proven track record of generating or converting new business.
- Strong sales and relationship-development skills.
- Experience working with affluent or high-net-worth clients.
- Strong understanding of investments, financial planning, and wealth management.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline and move prospects through the decision-making process.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable asking for the business and closing prospective clients.
- Experience working with professional referral sources is preferred.
- Existing client or professional relationships in the New York market are a plus.
- Relevant securities and advisory licenses required or preferred based on experience and current registration status.
