Senior VP (Tech/Finance (New York, NY)

About the Role

Rubenstein is looking for a Senior VP to lead and expand our Finance and Tech practice. The ideal candidate will bring at least 12 years of PR experience with a minimum of 3 years specializing in financial services, fintech, or related sectors. The successful candidate will have deep media relationships in the financial sector, exceptional strategic thinking abilities, and a track record of winning and retaining high‑value accounts. This role includes new business development.

Work Location

This is an in‑office role – 4 days a week.

Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Strategy

• Serve as senior‑most day‑to‑day contact for the agency’s financial service clients
• Lead strategic planning and execution of integrated communications programs from conception through measurement
• Oversee performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadlines, and budget adherence
• Play a major role in creation of communications plans and goals

Business Development & Growth

• Identify client needs and opportunities to expand service offerings and deepen relationships
• Pursue new business opportunities through networking, industry events, and referrals
• Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within existing accounts

Media Relations & Thought Leadership

• Pitch stories to top‑tier outlets in technology, business, and trade media
• Leverage established relationships with technology media to secure premium coverage for clients

Qualifications

• 12+ years of PR agency experience with at least 3 years focused on financial services, fintech, banking, investment, or related sectors
• Must have a proven track record of winning and retaining accounts
• Strong, current relationships with reporters and editors at financial media outlets
• Solid understanding of the financial services world—traditional banking, fintech, payments, crypto, wealth management, regulations
• Leadership experience managing and developing teams

To comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this exempt role is $175K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and location.
