The CHRO/Senior Vice President, Human Resources plays a critical role in leading and executing core areas in our Human Capital agenda.

In This Role You Have The Opportunity To

  • Human Capital Strategy & Leadership : Develop and conduct Hydro’s HR strategy to support overall business goals; work closely with executive leadership on staffing plans, succession planning, and organizational structure across our multi-national workforce.
  • Benefits & Retirement Programs: Administer and oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance and 401(k) plans; manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning : Lead full-cycle recruitment and hiring efforts; manage and execute the onboarding process; partner with department leaders to support ongoing staffing needs and workforce planning.
  • Performance Management & Employee Relations : Manage performance evaluation systems; address employee relations matters; support managers in coaching, documentation, and corrective action processes.
  • Training & Professional Development: Oversee and manage the Hydro’s training and professional development programs, including compliance training and tracking employee development activities.
  • Compensation & Incentive Programs: Enhance and manage competitive reward/incentive programs aligned with organizational performance objectives and retention goals.
  • Compliance & Policy Governance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and applicable payroll tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions; develop and maintain HR policies and procedures; oversee employee handbook updates and regulatory readiness.
  • HR Systems: Oversee and maintain HR systems to ensure accurate employee records, payroll processing, and efficient HR operations.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience (HRBP or generalist background) with 8+ years of experience operating at a strategic level with leadership, leading a team.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Global Leadership Experience : Multi-country or region leadership experience, particularly in emerging markets and demonstrated ability to lead effectively across diverse cultures and geographies.
  • Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen: Aligning HR initiatives with overall business goals, including strategic planning, financial awareness, and organizational development.
  • Executive Leadership & Influence: Leading the HR team and influencing the C-suite, exhibiting strong emotional intelligence (EQ), and acting as a credible activist for change.
  • Talent Strategy & Management: Designing and executing comprehensive strategies for talent acquisition, development, and retention, including performance management.
  • Change Management & Culture Champion: Navigating the organization through transitions, managing culture, and fostering employee engagement.
  • HR Technology & Data Analytics: Utilizing HRIS platforms, AI tools, and data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Thorough knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and ethical standards, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Interpersonal & Conflict Resolution Skills: Strong communication skills to mediate, negotiate, and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Safety Leadership & Culture : Commitment and responsibility in fostering a safety-oriented workplace.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

  • Ability to travel 25% domestically and internationally.
