Senior Transportation Project ManagerCharleston, South Carolina, United StatesAbout the Job Senior Transportation Project ManagerWhat You'll Do:Lead and manage transportation design projects in compliance with SCDOT, FHWA, and applicable regulatory standardsOversee the preparation of preliminary engineering plans, right-of-way (ROW) plans, and final construction documentsCoordinate cross-functional project activities including surveying, traffic engineering, drainage/hydraulics, utilities, and environmental complianceDevelop and manage project schedules, budgets, and progress reporting to ensure successful and timely deliveryAct as the primary point of contact for DOTs, counties, municipalities, and other key stakeholdersProvide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to engineering staff and project teamsReview and approve design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and QA/QC documentationSupport business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and contract negotiationsAssist with construction phase services such as responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and coordinating field activitiesWhat You'll Bring:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or Florida, or the ability to obtain within 6 months10+ years of progressive experience in roadway, bridge, and transportation design and project managementDemonstrated success managing DOT, county, and/or municipal transportation projects from concept through PS&EStrong knowledge of DOT design manuals, AASHTO guidelines, MUTCD standards, and project delivery methodologiesExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
