Join our roadways team to drive forth our economies, our societies, and your career.Stantec is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious Senior Traffic Engineer (PE) to be a part of Austin's signature transportation project, a 9.8-mile urban transit system featuring 15 stations.

Help shape the future of mobility in Central Texas while working alongside a talented team delivering this transformative project. The position will offer the opportunity to work on small and large high-profile roadway, highway, light rail, and traffic engineering projects.Your Key ResponsibilitiesManage project tasks including traffic signal system design and re-timing, signing design, pavement marking design, street lighting/illumination design, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS).Prepare construction documents and cost estimates for City, County and State roadway and highway projects.Perform complex engineering design tasks per Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT's) design standards.Develop budgets and monitor work of assigned team to ensure budgets and schedules are met.Coordinate with other Project Managers, project team and clients.Responsible for design, review and sealing of assigned projects.Provide technical advice to project teams and clients on traffic engineering matters.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including urban planners, architects, and civil engineers to create integrated solutions.Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the technical aspects of assigned projects.Train developing staff on design software packages for traffic engineering projects.Your Capabilities and CredentialsProficiency in OpenRoads Designer, SignCAD, and AGI-32.ProjectWise experience preferred.Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, including writing technical reports and memos using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong knowledge of the TxDOT design/planning procedures, and PS&E plan production.Experience must include traffic operations and safety; highway capacity analysis; traffic operational analysis; Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD); designing and implementing traffic signal system timings; and preparing PS&E plans.Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgement, creativity, and innovation.Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues and solutions to others.Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) is required.TX PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Certification preferred.Minimum of 10 years traffic engineering project experience.TxDOT Precertification preferred.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.
