Senior Test EngineerLocation: Phoenix, AZ (Scheduled work-from-home days) Full TimeShift: 9/80 schedule – Every other Friday offThe Senior Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, documentation, and execution of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used to verify spacecraft avionics and electronics. This includes developing test hardware, test software, automated test scripts, and test documentation that validates all performance and contractual requirements of complex spacecraft units.The engineer will work closely with systems engineering, hardware design, software teams, and other test engineers to support unit-level and subsystem-level testing.Key ResponsibilitiesEGSE Hardware DevelopmentDesign and develop electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) including: custom test boxes, specialized cabling, integration of COTS test instrumentsEnsure hardware can validate all design and contractual requirements of the Unit Under Test (UUT)Work with systems utilizing embedded Single Board Computers (Client), custom analog/digital I/O boards for Command & Data Handling (C&DH), Electrical Power System (EPS) boards for power switching, solar array interface, and battery chargingProduce and maintain schematics, assembly drawings, and parts lists in Moog's document control systemTest Software DevelopmentDevelop NI LabVIEW VI's for instrument control, monitoring, and UIWrite Python or PERL scripts to automate VxWorks and LabVIEW test executionIntegrate test code with Client-level C code running on VxWorksFamiliarity with VHDL is desirable for FPGA test integrationDocumentation & ComplianceAuthor and maintain: Integration & Test Plans, Environmental Test Plans, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) for customer deliveryUse Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word, and Intercept Mozaix for test documentationEnsure all test systems meet program, design, and contract requirementsSupport internal reviews, customer reviews, and formal configuration controlTechnical LeadershipMentor junior test engineers in hardware, software, debugging, and documentationSupport cross-functional engineering teams to meet schedules and solve integration issuesTake full ownership of assignments and drive tasks to on-time completionMinimum QualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering7–10 years of relevant test engineering experienceHands-on development experience using C, LabVIEW, Python, or PERLAbility to read and create cable drawings using VisioStrong hardware design and electronics troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environmentStrong documentation, communication, and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)Experience with VxWorksExperience with FPGA/VHDLSpacecraft avionics or aerospace hardware testingExperience with cPCI, embedded Clients, C&DH systems, or EPS testing
