Nexceris is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to accelerate the growth of its catalyst development efforts and lead its Catalyst testing facility. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Nexceris and to work with others to develop innovative catalyst solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Nexceris’ catalyst testing facilities including operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of existing reactor test stands to ensure high quality data.
  • Team leadership and/or individual contribution on reactor design and development projects for new chemistries from early-stage prototypes to fabrication of prototype reactors, testing documentation, and budgeting support. With new concepts, provide feedback in the context of customer need.
  • Producing and reviewing technical documents including engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, work instructions, technical reports, and presentations
  • Communicating with external vendors or production teams to coordinate and lead projects related to reactor design or catalyst testing
  • Mentor Nexceris’ engineers and technicians
  • Contribute to Nexceris’ intellectual property portfolio through the preparation of invention disclosures and patent applications.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree with >7 years of experience with catalyst reactor design and catalyst product development or BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with >3 years of experience with catalyst reactor design and catalyst product development
  • Proficient with operation of lab reactor systems, maintenance and qualification, related testing and data analysis techniques
  • Experience in lab management

Desired But Not Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience in heterogeneous catalyst bench and pilot scale design and testing
  • Proficient in the commercialization of innovative catalyst or reactor technologies
  • Experience with CAD, CFD, and kinetics modeling
  • Experience with system controls software, including ASPEN, CHEMCAD, MATLAB, and/or LABVIEW
  • Knowledge of relevant building and lab codes & standards; Chemical hygiene, hazardous area classes, hazard identification, etc.
  • Proficient with common catalyst characterization techniques, including Gas Chromatography (GC), Mass spectrometry (MS), FT-IR, Temperature Programmed Reduction (TPR)
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical communication and project organization skills.
