- Develop test hardware and software from requirements definition through build and integration, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities
- Design, support, and integrate communications, RF, analog, digital, firmware, and systems integration solutions
- Define and lead Preliminary and Detailed Design Reviews
- Prepare and present work products at project status meetings
- Meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments
- Work with mechanical engineering on test adapter and fixturing design activities
- Support manufacturing operations through onsite troubleshooting and debugging with production and design engineering teams
- Provide hardware and software deliverables and onsite training to final operators
- Function autonomously within a multifunctional team environment
- Enhance knowledge of the test engineering discipline and mechanical engineering tools
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required for security-clearance eligibility
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design and development, preferably related to test equipment development
- Experience working in an engineering laboratory and transitioning automated solutions to production environments
- Experience delivering hardware and software deliverables and providing onsite training to final operators
- Mechanical Engineering skill set desirable, with experience in Cadence and/or AutoCAD design capture tooling
- Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills
- Experience with National Instruments software suite, including TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW preferred
- Hardware station design experience using rack instrumentation, PXIe/MXI, and VME application development preferred
- Experience with digital, RF, and/or power supply test hardware and/or software design preferred
- MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Visio knowledge
- Understanding of engineering processes such as CMMI and Six Sigma
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
