Senior Test Automation Mechanical Engineer – Onsite

Onsite Full Time IT & Technology

  • Develop test hardware and software from requirements definition through build and integration, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities
  • Design, support, and integrate communications, RF, analog, digital, firmware, and systems integration solutions
  • Define and lead Preliminary and Detailed Design Reviews
  • Prepare and present work products at project status meetings
  • Meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments
  • Work with mechanical engineering on test adapter and fixturing design activities
  • Support manufacturing operations through onsite troubleshooting and debugging with production and design engineering teams
  • Provide hardware and software deliverables and onsite training to final operators
  • Function autonomously within a multifunctional team environment
  • Enhance knowledge of the test engineering discipline and mechanical engineering tools

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required for security-clearance eligibility
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design and development, preferably related to test equipment development
  • Experience working in an engineering laboratory and transitioning automated solutions to production environments
  • Experience delivering hardware and software deliverables and providing onsite training to final operators
  • Mechanical Engineering skill set desirable, with experience in Cadence and/or AutoCAD design capture tooling
  • Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience with National Instruments software suite, including TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW preferred
  • Hardware station design experience using rack instrumentation, PXIe/MXI, and VME application development preferred
  • Experience with digital, RF, and/or power supply test hardware and/or software design preferred
  • MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Visio knowledge
  • Understanding of engineering processes such as CMMI and Six Sigma
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
