About the Role

Seeking an experienced Senior Technology Project Manager – Database Engineering to lead strategic technology initiatives across the Database Engineering organization. This role will partner with cross-functional teams including Database Engineering, Application Development, Cloud, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and Vendors to successfully deliver enterprise-scale database programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical project management background with experience leading complex technology modernization, cloud adoption, automation, database lifecycle management, and AI-driven operational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Database Engineering projects from initiation through implementation and operational transition.
• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and executive reporting.
• Coordinate initiatives across Application Development, Infrastructure, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and Service Management teams.
• Drive database modernization programs including:
• Upgrades and migrations
• Platform refreshes
• End-of-life remediation
• Cloud adoption initiatives
• Technical debt reduction
• Manage enterprise database patching and maintenance programs.
• Lead implementation of database standards, governance processes, and best practices.
• Oversee evaluation and deployment of new database technologies, tools, and platforms.
• Drive AI and automation initiatives within Database Operations to improve:
• Monitoring and observability
• Incident response
• Performance optimization
• Capacity management
• Lifecycle management
• Operational analytics
• Establish KPIs and success metrics focused on operational efficiency, automation, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization.
• Facilitate technical and executive-level meetings and stakeholder communications.
• Manage project risks, dependencies, escalations, and vendor relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

✅ 8+ years of Project Management experience within Technology organizations

✅ Experience managing large-scale enterprise technology initiatives

✅ Strong understanding of:

• Database technologies and platforms
• Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Infrastructure and Cybersecurity environments
• IT Service Management and Governance

✅ Experience leading:

• Database modernization projects
• Technology upgrades and migrations
• Automation initiatives
• Cloud transformation programs

✅ Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project methodologies

✅ Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills

✅ PMP, Scrum Master, or related certifications preferred

✅ Experience working with AI, automation, and operational excellence initiatives is highly desirable
