Senior Technician / Server AdministratorThe Senior Technician / Server Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of the local lab Microsoft and VMware environments. This role requires a strong foundational knowledge of Windows Server, Windows workstations, and Active Directory.The Senior Technician / Server Administrator will install, administer, and optimize server infrastructure to ensure high performance of supported business applications. This includes maintaining the availability of virtualization hosts, supporting new system implementations, and developing processes and procedures for the ongoing management of the server environment.
This role works closely with the SHUSA Server Team to monitor, maintain, and optimize system performance.Essential FunctionsProvide day-to-day administration and support of Windows Server environments, including Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, and file and print servicesMaintain and manage software licensing inventory to ensure compliancePerform backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and reliability of backup procedures; monitor daily backup activities and manage offsite storage processesInstall, configure, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects and administrative templates in collaboration with the SHUSA Server TeamDevelop and maintain scripts in accordance with organizational standards and templatesConduct daily system monitoring to ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of hardware, server resources, and key processesReview system and application logs and verify successful completion of scheduled tasks such as backupsPerform regular file archival and data purging in accordance with data retention policiesCollaborate with Infrastructure Engineers and IT specialists to implement server enhancements and design modificationsProvide technical support to end users and troubleshoot reported issues as neededDeliver Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for escalated issues, including:User authentication, password, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) issuesAccount lockouts and access permission troubleshootingFile share access, drive mapping, and permissions managementMicrosoft Outlook and Exchange Online supportMicrosoft Teams, SharePoint, and collaboration tool supportNetwork connectivity, VPN, printer, and remote access troubleshootingSoftware installation, updates, and configuration supportOnboarding and offboarding activities, including account provisioning and equipment setupApply operating system patches, updates, and upgrades to server and desktop environments in accordance with organizational standardsDevelop and maintain system documentation, including installation and configuration proceduresDemonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilitiesCommunicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersManage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environmentOperate independently and collaboratively within a team settingParticipate in an on-call rotation as requiredTravel occasionally to support installations and infrastructure needsPerform additional duties as assignedEducation, Licensure, CertificationAssociate degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experienceVMware VCP and/or Microsoft MCSE certification preferredScheduled Weekly Hours: 40Work Shift: Shift scheduled between 6:30am – 6pmLocation: Aiea, HI (On-site)Days: Monday - FridayFull-time: Benefit Eligible, 40hr/wkSalary: $67,000 - $72,000Company: Sonic Healthcare USA, IncSonic Healthcare USA is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and is committed to an inclusive workplace for all employees.
