Senior Technical Advisor – Water Utility Engineering TXA leading municipal water utility seeks a Senior Technical Advisor to help shape and deliver critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the region. This is an excellent opportunity to have a direct impact on public infrastructure, lead high-level engineering initiatives, and provide mentorship within a stable and well-respected public organization.Senior Technical Advisor Benefits & CompensationCompetitive annual salary ($120,000–$170,000), commensurate with experienceComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coveragePension plansHealth Savings AccountPaid time off and paid parental leaveQuality training and tuition assistance programsFull-time, exempt roleSupportive culture committed to professional developmentSenior Technical Advisor Requirements & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or related field preferred)Six (6) years of professional engineering experience as a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) focused on municipal potable water and/or wastewater systemsAt least two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory capacityTexas PE license required (or PE from a reciprocal state, convertible within one year)Valid Texas Class "C" driver's license (or equivalent) may be requiredSenior Technical Advisor Preferred Background & SkillsComprehensive knowledge of civil/sanitary engineering in water and sewer design/operationsExpertise with construction, design, maintenance of water/sewage facilities, cost estimation, CADD, and project managementProficiency in water resource planning, treatment, delivery, sewage collection/treatment, budgeting, contract negotiation, and regulatory complianceStrong communication and presentation skills for technical and public audiencesAbility to build effective partnerships with internal teams, contractors, regulators, and the publicSenior Technical Advisor Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesReview and approve engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents for constructability and quality controlProvide technical oversight and mentorship to teams across Water, Stormwater, and Wastewater divisionsConduct expert site assessments to evaluate structural, environmental, and commercial feasibilityCoordinate field engineering, surveying, utility coordination, detailed drawings, schedules, and project cost estimatesOversee construction quality control, interpret material testing results, and ensure regulatory compliance with city, state, and federal standardsDevelop cost estimates and prioritize major capital projects within the Capital Improvement Program (CIP)Apply research and data analysis to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering challengesMake a significant impact in a growing metropolitan area while advancing your professional growth with a mission-driven team.
