Overview
Senior Tax Manager | $150,000 to $200,000 + Bonus | Remote (Must be near Chicago)
This role will be a key contributor within the tax function, supporting both tax provision and federal and state compliance activities. The position requires strong technical tax accounting expertise, along with the ability to stay organized, communicate effectively, and operate both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail oriented, and comfortable navigating a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including related disclosures
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns
- Lead federal and state tax audits and serve as the primary point of contact with tax authorities
- Identify and implement process improvements, including leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and automation within tax operations
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification
- 7+ years of corporate tax experience, including a mix of public accounting and/or industry experience
- Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. federal tax regulations
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced, evolving environment
