Senior Tax Manager

Compensation: $125,000-$170,000 + 20% Performance Bonus

Position Summary

A well-established, full-service Top 500 accounting and advisory firm in St. Louis is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join its growing tax practice. Responsibilities

• Lead tax engagements and serve as a key point of contact for assigned clients
• Oversee engagement planning, supervision, budgets, deadlines, and overall delivery
• Review complex tax returns and workpapers, providing technical guidance and feedback to staff
• Keep engagement Partners informed of client matters, significant decisions, risks, and recommendations
• Develop and mentor tax staff through coaching, performance feedback, assignment planning, and professional development
• Provide advanced tax compliance, research, planning, and consulting services
• Build and strengthen long-term client relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA required
• Minimum of 8 years of tax experience, with public accounting experience required
• Prior personnel management or team leadership experience
• Advanced technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax concepts
• Strong client-service, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and prioritize during peak tax season
• Experience with attestation or accounting services is a plus
