A well-established NJ- based CPA firm is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join its growing tax practice. This role will serve as a key leader within the firm, overseeing complex tax engagements, managing client relationships, and mentoring a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate is technically strong, client-focused, and comfortable operating in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and review complex tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, and closely held businesses
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients across various industries
- Manage and develop client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor
- Oversee and mentor tax staff and managers, including review of work and performance development
- Identify tax‑saving opportunities and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Collaborate with firm leadership on practice development and process improvements
- Stay current on tax legislation and proactively communicate impacts to clients and internal teams
Qualifications
- CPA license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
- 8+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong experience with HNW individuals, partnerships, and closely held entities
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
