Senior Tax Manager – Private Equity Fund (Houston)

One of Houston's top PE/growth capital firms is adding a Senior Tax Manager to their in-house team. This is a newly created seat with huge visibility, real fund exposure, and a shot at the kind of complexity you don't always see.

What you'll own

• Review (not prep) of complex partnership and blocker company returns at the Fund level — federal & state


• Oversight of tax depletion, K-1 production/distribution, and investor tax reporting


• FDAP, ECI, and state withholding calculations


• Blocker corporation income tax accounting (ASC 740) for financial reporting


• Heavy Excel-based analysis across a large portfolio company base


• Coordination with outside counsel, Big 4 firms, and regional CPA firms on fund tax matters

What you bring

• 7+ years of partnership tax compliance experience — upstream energy/oil & gas background required ; renewable energy experience a big plus


• CPA or EA required


• Public accounting background, ideally with Private Equity or VC fund client exposure (portfolio company-side experience is not a fit)


• Comfort in complex fund structures — blockers, federal & state partnership returns, multi-entity review


• Strong business acumen, high EQ, sharp organizational and project management skills, and confident communication with senior stakeholders
