As a Systems Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.How a Systems Engineer will make an impact:Develops and applies advanced engineering and design methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced system requirements, hardware/software interfaces and applications and solutions.Operate and sustain the on-going daily operational use of VMware infrastructure including updating, testing and deploying the vSphere and vCenter product releases. This includes identifying and reporting concerns or issues encountered during installation, testing and deployment of new software releases.Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, primarily Windows and Linux serversSupport and management of server virtualization, server provisioning, physical server maintenance, security compliance and daily operationsManage VMware vSphere, with emphasis on automation, and enterprise storage and backup system administration, installation and on-going maintenance experience.Maintain server lifecycle - provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of the hardwareMaintain the virtualized server environment via configuration, implementation, management and support activitiesMonitor the virtual server infrastructure environment's health status, service performance, and utilizationImplement and maintain continuous compliance to information security policies and technical standards, reporting and remediation of non-compliancesMaintain the security baseline compliance via configuration, implementation, and remediation activitiesTroubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performanceIntegrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systemsPerform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functionsProvides installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.Performs configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems and implements incident response procedures during incidents of a network or host security breach.Diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and other related technologiesOversee the Installation of new storage hardware and software according to standard operating proceduresReviews customer requirements and makes recommendations for changes to existing technical architecture.Complies with prescribed customer, industry and agency standards.Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. support, administer and maintenance of enterprise data center systems comprised of both physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, monitoring and automationParticipates in special projects as requiredWhat you'll need to succeed:Required Education and Experience: BA/BS + 8 yearsCertifications: DoD Manual -M at the Information Assurance Technical (lAT) Level II roleSecurity Clearance Level: TS/SCI with polygraphWorking technical competency in one or more of the following supported platforms: Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, MS Hyper-V/VMWare/ESx/Xen Hypervisors, intrusion detection/prevention systems, forensic analysis/vulnerability assessment, Group Policy management and configuration, Scripting, BMC Footprints, WSUS, Lumension, Bitlocker, SQL Server 2012, Microsoft IIS, Windows Server 2012r2/2016, Win 10, Red Hat 6.5, Microsoft OfficeHands on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and conceptsExperience with SAN, NAS and iSCSI storage implementationsExperience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environmentsExperience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environmentsExperience with data center migrations and storage replication technologiesSenior level experience with design, development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centersLocation: On Customer SiteThe likely salary range for this position is $164,382 - $180,716.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
