Senior Systems EngineerSimIS, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead systems engineering activities for a U.S. Navy Training Command.
This position provides technical leadership for complex simulation and training systems including requirements analysis, system integration, verification and validation, and technical oversight of engineering teams supporting shore-based training systems.The candidate performs the following specific assignments:Provide leadership and guidance using experience gained from in depth AEGIS Combat System engineering including SPY Radar, Command & Decision, and Weapons Control SystemsLead systems engineering lifecycle activities from requirements through deploymentExperience with Distributed Interface System (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) compliant systemsApply knowledge of simulation systems including NGS, OASIS, JSAF, and tactical training environmentsDeliver expertise in developing and reviewing system requirements, specifications, and technical documentationManage multi-site operations with distributed teams across multiple geographic locationsManage contract performance management, cost control, and schedule adherenceServe as POC with government Contracting Officers, CORs, and senior military leadershipUse experience gained to manage complex technical programs involving simulation systems and training environmentsUse experience with risk management, quality assurance, and vendor management activities to meet all deliverables, timelines, expectations.Experience Required:Eight (8) years of systems engineering experience with three (3) years in leadership rolesMandatory: Must meet DOD 8570 requirements for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level IIExperience with AEGIS Combat System engineering including SPY Radar, Command & Decision, and Weapons Control SystemsDemonstrated ability to lead systems engineering lifecycle activities from requirements through deploymentExperience with Distributed Interface System (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA) compliant systemsKnowledge of simulation systems including NGS, OASIS, JSAF, and tactical training environmentsExperience developing and reviewing system requirements, specifications, and technical documentationStrong leadership and communication skills with ability to interface at executive levelsKnowledge of Navy tactical systems and combat information center operationsSECRET clearanceExperience Desired:Preferred: Master's degree in Systems EngineeringProfessional Engineering LicenseExperience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira)Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teamsExperience with government reporting requirements and CDRL deliverablesExperience with DoD acquisition processesSpecial Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired:Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience with NSWCDD or Navy programsExperience with classified program managementBenefits:Medical, Dental, and VisionShort Term Disability (at no cost to you) & Long Term DisabilityLife InsuranceFlex Spending Accounts401(k) Savings PlanTuition Assistance ProgramProfessional DevelopmentPaid Time Off (PTO)11 Federal Holidays each yearSimIS, Inc. is an EOE / M / F / Disability / VET / Drug Free Employer
