Senior Systems EngineerSaab, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team to develop complex electronic surveillance systems for commercial and government customers. This role is critical to successfully developing products and executing projects to achieve Saab's vision – It's a human right to feel safe. This position is located at our East Syracuse, NY, office.Responsibilities include:Lead development of primary and secondary radar products which provide safety-critical surveillance throughout the worldLead technical investigation and top-level design for new feature development and change requests from both internal and external stakeholders.Execute hands-on product integration and troubleshooting for digital and RF systems using dedicated test equipment, command line interfaces and computer network analysis tools.Develop MATLAB tools to support performance prediction, system and product verification, and system analysisDevelop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance product performanceDevelop and maintain specifications and technical documentation to support customer deliverables and internal systems engineering processes.Analyze requirements, assess compliance, perform gap analysis, etc. in order to develop technical, cost, and schedule estimates to support design reviews and proposal activities.Balance competing interests from multiple stakeholder groupsCoordinate with product development management to ensure technical, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved while maintaining acceptable levels of risk.Mentor and lead junior engineers within your team and throughout the organization.Domestic and international travel may be required, generally less than 10%.Compensation:$115,700 - $150,500The compensation range provided is a general guideline.

When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related discipline7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries (e.g., aerospace, defense/military, medical, nuclear, etc.)Demonstrated proficiency with electromechanical and/or embedded software systemsDemonstrated proficiency with technologies applicable to advanced radar systemsDemonstrated programming and data analysis skillsExperience with requirements management, system design, and system/subsystem integrationStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to form productive relationships within a teamExcellent written and oral communication and collaboration skillsAbility to lead and grow junior engineersCitizenship Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen.
