Senior Systems Engineer - Cloud Integration w/TS Clearance

Salary: $120,000 - 185,000 per year Requirements:

• Experience with NIST 800-53, security control lifecycles, integrated development environments, API development platforms and/or build automation tools, AWS, Python, SQL, Azure, and C# or equivalent certifications or experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts in federal environments, including the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies, or military organizations. Experience on the same or a similar contract, with a strong understanding of the customer environment and operational needs, is highly desirable.
• Hold one of the following 8570 IAT Level II certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA CySA+, GIAC GSEC, GIAC GICSP, ISC2 SSCP, Cisco CCNA Security (legacy/retired), or EC-Council CND.
• A bachelors degree is preferred.
• Active Top Secret clearance is required; TS/SCI eligibility or access may be required depending on assigned duties. The work authorization section also specifies U.S. citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance.
• Preferred experience includes engineering systems in classified environments; working with DevSecOps and cloud architectures; supporting secure applications or COMSEC systems; and integrating legacy and modern enterprise technologies.
• Be able to meet the roles physical demands, including regularly handling objects, reaching, speaking and hearing, standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role involves lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 or 50 pounds frequently, as well as close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Design system architectures and engineering solutions.

• Prepare engineering plans, implementation procedures, and technical documentation.
• Support system testing, validation, deployment, and ongoing lifecycle sustainment.

• Apply NIST 800-53 controls and security requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.

• Participate in configuration management and technical change control.

We are collaborating with hackajob to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer – Cloud and Application Integration for our Department of State COMSEC IT Services contract. The position supports COMSEC operations and modernization across applications, infrastructure, automation, cloud technologies, databases, and security engineering. It is based onsite in the DMV area, with a low-noise office environment and a Monday–Friday day schedule; occasional evenings or weekends may be needed to meet program and contract needs.
