a global high-technology company engaged in a wide range of programs for innovative defense and commercial applications.Summary of Responsibilities:The Senior Sustaining Engineer provides mid-level Engineering support to the operations business unit and departments by troubleshooting difficult problems, instructing the technicians in techniques to resolve these issues in an effort to achieve EFW's business plan and objectives and leading teams to resolve issues and improve productivity.Responsibilities and Tasks:Write, review and modify test procedures for the troubleshooting of electronic assembliesSupport test technicians by troubleshooting difficult problems and by instructing the technicians in techniques to resolve these issuesDevelop test equipment and test assemblies to aid the technicians in isolating problemsConduct research to resolve production difficultiesWrite ECPs on product to correct errors and to resolve production difficultiesProvide New Product Setup, Programming and Support, ECO and Process Improvement ImplementationBe prepared to support all schedule requirements through on-call or overtime requirementsLead, participate and contribute to a team environment within the department and throughout the organizationStay abreast of all state of the art, technical and equipment issues through training and self-developmentAdhere to internal ethics, procedures and external regulations and lawsSupport the Sustaining Engineering and Operations department's performance goals and objectivesOther related duties as assigned by supervisorEducation, Experience & License or Certification:Bachelor's degree is required. 5-10 years functional experience may substituteAssociate's degree is requiredSpecific Degree Field Required: Technical Degree (engineering, electronics, etc.)5-10 years of functional (using skill set) experience is required1-3 years of industry experience is requiredTraining Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position): ESDSafety Training, as dictated by Safety DepartmentSkills and Abilities:Able to formulate resolution plans, solutions, and a concise, informational final reportAble to analyze technical data package for new programs with minimal supervision, to anticipate and prevent, where possible, production issues and risksAble to participate in small teams for issue resolutionAble to troubleshoot complex issues with minimal supervision, and break them down into smaller, more simple tasks for the technicians to performSupport programs in front of the customer, by professional appearance and demeanorAble to provide presentations when necessaryExhibit a willingness to stay abreast of all state of the art, technical and equipment issues through training and self-developmentFamiliarity with basic test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators, etc.)Good Working knowledge of basic computer applicationsHere Are Some of the Great Benefits We Offer:Most locations offer a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday offCompetitive compensation & 401(k) program to plan for your futureRobust medical, dental, vision, & disability coverage with qualified wellness discountsBasic Life Insurance and Additional Life & AD&D Insurances are availableFlexible Vacation & PTOPaid Parental LeaveGenerous Employee Referral ProgramVoluntary Benefits Available: Longer Term Care, Legal, Identity Theft, Pet Insurance, and moreVoluntary Tricare Supplement available for military retireesThis job description does not list all the duties of the job.
