Position Summary
This is a senior-level engineer position represented by the Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC). You will lead the engineering and design of complex projects, applying extensive knowledge to resolve complex problems. This role involves providing leadership, coaching, technical direction, and knowledge transfer to technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage large, complex projects, perform engineering analyses, and develop conceptual designs.
- Lead, coach, and mentor technical employees and teams.
- Assist in finalizing contract project specifications and evaluating technical bids.
- Provide support for land, permitting, and legal issues.
- Resolve complex problems independently using creative or non-standard approaches.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, local agencies, and internal project teams.
Qualifications
Minimum
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent.
- 8 years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering and design.
Desired
- Experience with large-scale, large-budget electric substation projects.
- Proficiency in substation engineering and project management.
- Current California PE license.
Additional Notes
- Local candidates only (Oakland, Sacramento, or Fresno areas).
- Travel: 20% within the service territory (e.g., Fresno, West Sacramento).
- Key requirements: Substation experience, EE degree, and PG&E project experience.
