Role Overview
This position offers a balanced blend of technical structural design and project coordination, making it ideal for an experienced engineer looking to step into a more influential role within project delivery.
You will work across a broad range of projects including commercial buildings, municipal infrastructure, industrial facilities, and specialty structures, while also supporting coordination between internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Engineering Design
- Analyse and design structural systems using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, and prestressed concrete
- Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications in line with US codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI)
- Support development of efficient and practical structural solutions across different project types
Project Coordination & Delivery
- Assist with project scheduling, deliverable tracking, and internal coordination
- Act as a key point of contact between engineers, architects, contractors, and clients
- Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and multidisciplinary project discussions
- Support proposal writing, scope definition, and fee development
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate effectively with clients and project teams
- Help manage expectations around scope, timelines, and deliverables
Field & Site Work
- Conduct site visits and structural assessments as required
- Document existing conditions and support construction‑phase activities
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- 8-12 years' experience within structural engineering consulting
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of US building codes and design standards
- Experience with structural analysis software (RISA, RAM, Tedds or similar)
- Familiarity with BIM environments (Revit preferred)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across both technical and project responsibilities
