nAn engineering-focused organization in the Midwest is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design and execution of precast concrete structures. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all engineering work meets safety, quality, and code requirements while supporting projects from concept through completion.
nThis role will also provide mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver efficient, constructible solutions. Ideal for someone with strong technical expertise who enjoys both hands-on design work and team leadership.

nSkills and Requirements
nKey Responsibilities
nDesign and analyze precast concrete structures for safety, performance, and code compliance
nReview and approve engineering calculations and drawings for accuracy
nLead and support project design teams to meet technical and project milestones
nMentor and guide junior engineers on design practices and technical development
nInterpret architectural and structural plans and perform engineering calculations
nCollaborate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to develop project solutions
nIdentify and resolve design, schedule, and quality issues
nProvide engineering support to sales and estimating teams
nConduct site and manufacturing facility visits as needed
nMake timely technical decisions and implement solutions to address project challenges
nRequired Skills and Experience
nBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
n5+ years of structural engineering experience
nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within the first year
nStrong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction practices
nExperience with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills
nProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
nExcellent communication and collaboration skills
nStrong organizational and time management abilities
nAbility to work both independently and within a team environment Nice to Have Skills and Experience
nExperience with precast concrete design or related industry
nPrevious experience mentoring or leading junior engineers
nWorking Conditions
nOccasional travel to plant or field locations
nMust be comfortable working in industrial environments and wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, etc.)
nAbility to navigate job sites, including uneven surfaces, stairs, and active construction areas
