Onsite Full Time Networks & Systems

CMK Resources is seeking a Senior Pure Storage Resident Engineer to support one of our strategic technology partners and their end customer, a major financial services organization. This is a highly visible, hands-on engineering role supporting a large and complex enterprise storage environment across Pure Storage FlashBlade and FlashArray.

We are specifically looking for an engineer with strong, hands-on production experience with BOTH Pure Storage FlashBlade and FlashArray. Candidates must have personally administered, supported, optimized, and troubleshot both platforms in enterprise environments.

This is not an architecture-only, implementation-only, or pre-sales position. The ideal candidate is a senior operational storage engineer with deep expertise across file, object, and block storage, including S3, and the troubleshooting skills to independently own complex production issues.

This is also a true Resident Engineer position. You will work directly alongside the customer, take ownership of technical issues and optimization initiatives, and become a trusted technical advisor within their storage organization.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide hands-on administration, operational support, troubleshooting, and optimization of Pure Storage FlashBlade and FlashArray in a large enterprise production environment.
  • Troubleshoot complex storage issues involving performance, latency, availability, capacity, connectivity, access, and application workloads.
  • Support S3/object storage environments, including APIs, buckets, authentication, permissions, performance, and application connectivity.
  • Administer and troubleshoot enterprise file services, including NFS and SMB/CIFS.
  • Support enterprise block storage workloads on Pure FlashArray, including SAN connectivity and performance.
  • Perform proactive health checks, performance analysis, capacity planning, monitoring, and optimization across the Pure environment.
  • Support multi-tenant environments, including RBAC, access policies, authentication, and tenant separation.
  • Manage and troubleshoot snapshots, replication, data protection, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Support upgrades, maintenance activities, infrastructure changes, migrations, and lifecycle management.
  • Perform deep root cause analysis using logs, metrics, alerts, and system behavior rather than relying solely on vendor escalation.
  • Work across storage, VMware, Linux, networking, backup, security, database, cloud, and application teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in incident management, change management, maintenance windows, and major production events.
  • Identify opportunities to improve storage performance, reliability, utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, and best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to the customer, proactively identifying risks and recommending improvements.

What You Bring to the Role

  • 8+ years of enterprise storage engineering experience supporting large, business-critical production environments.
  • Hands-on Pure Storage FlashBlade experience is required.
  • Hands-on Pure Storage FlashArray experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience administering and troubleshooting both FlashBlade and FlashArray in production environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience across file, object, and block storage.
  • Strong knowledge of S3/object storage, including troubleshooting workloads, APIs, access, permissions, and performance.
  • Strong experience with NFS and SMB/CIFS.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise SAN/block storage concepts and troubleshooting.
  • Experience troubleshooting storage performance, latency, capacity, availability, connectivity, and access issues.
  • Experience with storage monitoring, observability, health checks, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Understanding of multi-tenancy, RBAC, access policies, authentication, and security within enterprise storage environments.
  • Experience with snapshots, replication, high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments, ideally at the petabyte scale.
  • Experience with VMware and enterprise virtualized environments.
  • Strong Linux troubleshooting skills and the ability to investigate issues across storage, host, network, and application layers.
  • Experience operating within formal enterprise incident, change, and problem management processes.

Customer-Facing Experience

Technical expertise alone will not be enough for this position. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating as a Resident Engineer and trusted technical advisor within a large enterprise customer.

You should have experience:

  • Working directly with enterprise customers or internal infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Taking ownership of complex technical issues from initial investigation through resolution.
  • Leading technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis discussions.
  • Communicating effectively during high-severity production incidents.
  • Providing proactive recommendations rather than operating solely in a reactive support capacity.
  • Presenting technical risks, findings, and best practices to customer stakeholders.
  • Building credibility and long-term relationships with engineering teams.
  • Working independently while effectively engaging vendor engineering and support resources when necessary.
