Senior Staff Attorney Insurance Defense

Responsibilities

• Work closely with claim centers and insureds to deliver best possible results in pending litigation.
• Provide top‑quality representation for Auto and General Liability (product & premises) cases from inception through trial resolution.
• Analyze complex legal issues and conduct extensive, well‑reasoned legal research.
• Independently develop and aggressively present defense strategies for auto and general liability cases.
• Prepare pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies.
• Provide effective and timely information, legal advice, and other services.
• Communicate with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co‑counsel with professionalism.
• Participate in claims file reviews.
• Conduct trials, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Attend continuing legal education seminars to maintain professional expertise.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a license to practice in Florida.
• Minimum 7 years of experience handling bodily injury claims with proven trial expertise.
• First‑chair jury trial experience preferred.
• Legal research and motion practice expertise.
• Positive‑mindset collaborative team‑player attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Lexis Nexis experience a plus.
• Self‑directed with strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Remote & Travel

• Position fully remote from a Florida residence.
• Requires 10‑15% travel within Florida for court and file‑related appearances.

Compensation

The annualized base pay range: $128,000 – $192,000.

Base pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies. Total compensation includes potential short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition.
