Role: Senior SQL Server DBA
Location: Charlotte, NC – Onsite

Job Description
Acts as a bridge between database and infrastructure teams, ensuring SQL Server environments are correctly configured, performant, and ready for AG based migration execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate infrastructure readiness for SQL Server workloads
- Storage configuration (data/log/tempdb separation)
- Disk latency and throughput
- VM sizing (CPU, memory)
- Diagnose performance issues related to
- IO bottlenecks
- CPU contention
- Network latency
- Validate and troubleshoot
- Windows Failover Clusters
- AG connectivity and endpoints
- Listener and DNS configurations
- Assist in AG migration execution and performance monitoring
- Analyze SQL waits and correlate with infra metrics
- Work closely with infra teams to resolve
- Storage performance issues
- Network/firewall delays
- Cluster misconfigurations
- Contribute to automation of validation and health checks
Required Skills
- Strong SQL Server DBA experience (HA/DR + performance)
- Good understanding of
- Windows Failover Clustering
- Virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper V/Azure)
- Ability to interpret
- Disk latency (ms)
- CPU ready / contention
- Network throughput
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in cross team (infra + DBA) collaboration
Nice to Have
- Exposure to SAN / storage architecture
- Experience troubleshooting performance in virtualized environments
- Monitoring tools experience (SentryOne, OEM, etc.)
