Senior SQL Server DBAWe're in search of a Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA with strong experience in database administration, performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery. Must have hands-on experience with SSRS report development and reporting tools such as Tableau and Workiva/Wdata.

The role involves troubleshooting complex databases and application issues while supporting development teams and business users. Expertise in database design, data modeling, SQL optimization, and enterprise-level SQL Server environments is required.Job Title: Senior SQL Server DBALocation: Frankfort, KYDuration: Long-term Indefinite ContractA Senior Database Administrator, based in Frankfort, Kentucky, responsible for the daily administration of three state-administered retirement systems with over $24.9 billion in combined assets. These systems support approximately 421,000 state and local government employees, including state employees, state police officers, city and county staff, as well as non-teaching personnel of local school boards and regional universities.The organization's technology team includes 43 professionals across multiple branches, with a dedicated group of 16 IT specialists focused on application development and database administration.Key Responsibilities:Serve as Microsoft SQL Server Administrator, monitoring and optimizing database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning. Managing database security, user access, encryption, backup.Provide technical expertise for data administration, database programming, and CABINET's Line of Business (LOB) applications, including mentoring development staff on SQL optimization and performance enhancements.Design, develop, modify, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports; collaborate with business users and analysts to gather reporting requirements and deliver accurate, efficient reporting solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve complex production database, LOB, and data integrity issues; provide technical support to development teams and serve as a subject matter expert in data integration functions.Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to evaluate user requirements and support the application development and data needs.Communicate complex technical concepts, processes, and solutions effectively to technical staff, non-technical users, vendors, and other state organizations.Perform other duties as assigned.Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Five (5) years of experience as a Database Administrator - Senior roleExtensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management software, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation ServerKnowledge of database design principles, data modeling, data warehousing conceptsExperience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and reporting tools Tableau and Workiva/WdataSolid problem-solving skills with a proven ability to manage and troubleshooting complex database, application, and data integrity issues.Skill in analyzing technical requirements and implementing effective database and application solutions.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business and technical needs.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position is $50 to $55
