Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain responsive and interactive web applications using modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript) with an emphasis on accessibility. Write clean, maintainable and well‑documented code in accordance with coding standards and best practices. Develop and execute test cases to ensure reliability and functionality. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements, provide technical insights and contribute to the product roadmap. Investigate and resolve issues reported by users or QA testers promptly. Conduct regular code reviews to maintain quality standards. Evaluate and integrate emerging web technologies and frameworks to optimize performance and scalability. Oversee deployment and maintenance processes, ensuring continuous improvement and high availability in production environments. Lead all aspects of software development and product engineering, mentor junior engineers and manage ongoing maintenance of existing systems.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or a role involving building, architecting and leading large‑scale, consumer‑facing web applications with modern web technologies. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in the same fields plus 3 years of professional experience in the same role will be accepted.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience designing, developing and implementing highly interactive, accessible and performant web applications for high‑volume global audiences using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and React.
- 3 years of experience collaborating cross‑functionally with product management, UX/UI design, quality assurance, analytics and business stakeholders to align technical roadmaps and feature priorities.
- 3 years of experience modeling and advocating best practices in security, privacy and accessibility throughout the full software development lifecycle in a large‑scale consumer technology environment.
- 3 years of experience proactively managing technical debt through strategic refactoring, process improvements and system optimizations aimed at enhancing stability, scalability and long‑term maintainability.
- 2 years of experience providing technical mentorship and architectural leadership to multiple engineering teams, including mentoring, code reviews and establishing best practices.
Location & Compensation
Partial telecommuting permitted; on‑site in New York, NY office when not remote. Salary: $189,592 - $230,000 per year.
