You’ll help take a proven, mission-focused product suite beyond its original customer environment and make it deployable across a much wider range of customers and environments.
Your core challenge is to genericize the current solution. That means removing customer-specific dependencies, abstracting environment-specific configurations, and building interfaces that let authorization workflows and key management operations run across many different customer environments. Your work will touch every major part of the ecosystem: clients, the Portal, Proxy services, and OpenBao-based key management services.
- Lead changes to encryption libraries and key management services
- Migrate code from low-side to high-side environments
- Set and apply best practices so solution designs are implemented successfully, through clear team communication, planning documentation, system testing, and defect resolution
- Manage day-to-day work toward project milestones
- Contribute to project planning and status reporting
- 12+ years of professional experience
- A BS in Computer Science or a related field, or 8 years of equivalent work experience
- Experience with C or C++
- 8+ years of Java development on both Linux and Windows
- Proficiency in at least one more high-level language, ideally Python, Go, or Rust (JavaScript is a plus)
- 5+ years of cryptographic experience, with a solid understanding of key management
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with teammates and clients
- Experience as a contractor in the Intelligence Community
- 8+ years with modern software development management practices
- Working knowledge of Agile methodology
- 5+ years building with REST APIs
- 2+ years with cloud platforms, tools, and administration
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and performance evaluation skills
- You follow through, stay motivated, and collaborate well across the team
- You’re comfortable in a matrixed environment and with virtual, distributed teams
- You work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and own your parts of the project
- You stay steady under pressure, including tight deadlines and shifting requirements
You’ll be encouraged to learn new and emerging technologies, and you’ll have room to share what you know with a team of highly skilled professionals.
