Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for aSenior Backend Engineer to join a New York-based engineering team responsible for building and maintaining systems that support custody, staking, and asset management workflows within a high-performance, cloud-native environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design and architect scalable backend services on acloud-native platform , with a focus on automation, reliability, and security
- Build and enhance systems responsible fortransaction processing and asset inventory management
- Develop and maintainstaking and workflow management systems for digital assets
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams supporting trading, lending, settlement, frontend applications, and infrastructure
- Contribute to system design decisions and help shape architecture for high-throughput, low-latency environments
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and production support
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong foundation incomputer science fundamentals and system design
- Proven experience designing and building scalable backend systems
- Expertise in one or more of the following:Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, or similar (Java preferred)
- Deep understanding ofobject-oriented programming principles
- Experience working across the full development lifecycle, including agile environments and production systems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over system quality and performance
Nice to Have
- Experience withmessaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Familiarity withcontainerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience withcloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Background infinancial services, fintech, or digital assets
- Understanding ofasynchronous or reactive programming models
- Familiarity withevent-driven architectures and domain-driven design
- Knowledge ofconcurrency and multi-threading concepts , particularly in Java
