The Gordon Technology Services Limson Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help spearhead the evolution of our core client BackOffice system.In this pivotal role, you will be a driving force behind the design, development, and deployment of a brand-new, modern web application built entirely within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. You will sit at the intersection of innovation and execution—writing clean, resilient code, optimizing system performance, and helping shape the future-proof solutions that drive our business forward.ResponsibilitiesDevelops programs or scripts according to specification and established coding standardsAnalyzes, reviews and tests for accuracy and optimal implementation of developed solutionsAnalyzes current business systems, determines scope and estimates for tasks related to issues to be resolvedPerforms integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability and optimal performanceConstructs various software components and validates completeness and qualityMay coordinate development efforts, and coordinate and assist with code reviewsEstablishes and enforces coding standards for programs or scriptsMentors Associate or Intermediate software engineersAnalyzes and resolves program/script or system failuresFacilitates formal code reviews for programs/scriptsPerforms software system maintenance, support and requirement analysisAssists in designing GUI and software componentsMay participate in on-call support rotationOther duties and responsibilities as assignedWork ScheduleMonday to Friday, 8am to 5pmHybrid Schedule, 4 days in office in Wyoming, MI or Atlanta, GA, with 1 day remoteQualificationsBachelor Degree Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferredFive or more years of related software development experience requiredMust have good written and verbal communication skills as well as good organizational and problem-solving capabilitiesMust have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environmentAbility to develop solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation, and ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectivesBackend Development SkillsStrong Java (current LTS) with deep experience in Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem — Spring MVC REST, Spring Data/JDBC, and Spring SecurityRelational data modeling on PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL)Building and consuming RESTful web services in a microservices architectureCloud & DevOps SkillsHands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS or AzureBuild tooling with Maven or similarFrontend Development SkillsProficiency in TypeScript (strict) / modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSSComponent development with Angular or ReactTesting & Quality SkillsTest-first discipline using tools like JUnit, Mockito, and AssertJ for unit testingFrontend/E2E testing with Playwright or WebdriverIO or similarCommitment to code quality using tools like SonarQube/SonarCloud and static analysis ( ESLint )Preferred / Nice to Have ExperienceCI/CD and source control with GitLabInfrastructure-as-code using TerraformEvent-driven design with Google Cloud Pub/SubAPI management with ApigeeObservability with Dynatrace and Google Cloud MonitoringExperience building AI-powered features with Gemini and the Google Agent Development Kit (ADK)Containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes (GKE)Be Part Of An Amazing Culture Where What Matters To You, Matters To Us!Gordon Food Service values our customers and understands that their success is largely dependent upon their workforce.
