Senior Software Engineer – Bluetooth Connectivity

Role Summary

Ford is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer – Bluetooth Connectivity focused on execution and issue resolution for Bluetooth connectivity on the Android-based software stack for next-generation in-vehicle infotainment systems.

The engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Android Bluetooth stack, resolving issues identified during Apple CarPlay and Android Auto certification/testing, driving rapid bug triage for connectivity issues, and executing Bluetooth SIG certification processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, integrate, and maintain the Android-based Bluetooth stack, including AOSP Bluetooth/Fluoride and Android framework layer .
• Investigate, triage, and resolve issues identified during Apple CarPlay and Android Auto certification and compliance testing .
• Own rapid bug triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution of Bluetooth connectivity and interoperability issues.
• Execute the Bluetooth SIG certification process , including Bluetooth Qualification Body submissions and test case verification.
• Collaborate with infotainment, QA, OEM/Tier 1 partners, and Apple/Google certification teams.
• Ensure software stability and high-quality in-vehicle connectivity experiences.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience focused on Bluetooth technologies within an Android environment.
• Proven experience implementing and debugging the Android Bluetooth stack , including AOSP, Fluoride, Android Framework/HAL layer.
• Direct experience with Apple CarPlay and/or Android Auto certification, testing, and issue resolution .
• Direct experience executing and successfully completing Bluetooth SIG certification .
• Strong debugging skills and rapid issue-resolution experience in complex automotive connectivity environments.
• Hands-on experience with protocol analyzers and packet sniffers such as Ellisys, Frontline, or Wireshark .

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Bluetooth profiles such as A2DP, HFP, AVRCP, PBAP, MAP , etc.
• Experience working with Apple's MFi program or Google's Android Auto/Android Automotive certification requirements .
