Senior Software Engineer – Leading Global Hedge Fund – Excellent Compensation + Benefits

My client, a US-based global hedge fund, is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join their Operating Platform Technology function.

The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Compliance, Treasury, Finance, Tax, Legal and HR, building and modernising the platforms and data infrastructure that underpin firm-wide trading compliance, regulatory reporting, accounting and financial/management reporting.

The role combines hands‑on senior engineering with direct stakeholder partnership. You will take ownership of the design, reliability and evolution of critical operating systems, translating complex financial and regulatory processes into robust, auditable, production‑grade software.

This is a full‑stack role spanning front‑end, back‑end and data pipeline work, with a strong focus on modernising legacy systems into scalable, cloud‑native architecture, and increasingly, on embedding AI/agent‑based automation into operational workflows.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record of delivering and operating production systems at scale


• Solid full‑stack background and comfortable across a modern front‑end framework, back‑end development (e.g., C#/.NET or Python), and both relational and analytical data stores


• Hands‑on experience building and deploying cloud‑native applications, with containerisation, infrastructure‑as‑code, and modern CI/CD practices


• Strong grounding in software architecture, API design, data modelling and system integration


• Experience modernising or re‑platforming legacy systems without disrupting live, business‑critical operations


• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with non‑technical stakeholders and translate business or regulatory requirements into technical solutions


• Comfortable diagnosing and resolving issues across a full production stack in a well‑monitored environment


• Background in financial services or asset management, ideally touching compliance, regulatory reporting, financial data or accounting workflows


• Experience building or integrating AI agent‑based or LLM‑powered workflows into production systems


• Proven ability to design well‑controlled, auditable systems handling sensitive or regulated data


• An ownership mentality and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment


• Exposure to evaluating and introducing new technologies and engineering approaches
