Senior Software EngineerNextern is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our product realization team. You will work in multi-disciplinary teams to meet product and project requirements; collaborating with engineers from a variety of companies and industries. You will also have the ability to mentor junior engineers.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain software solutions using programming / scripting languages such as C, C++, C#, and PythonAssist in creating and maintaining product documentation (requirements, specification, design, development, integration, test procedures and results)Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifactsContribute to system risk analysis and FMEA activitiesHelp break down project schedule and plan activities throughout the developmentAble to act as the software product owner on smaller projects and can be a technical subject matter expert and take ownership of components on larger, more complicated systemsActively contribute to software process improvement activities and can help drive new process improvements within the organizationImplement source code meeting product requirements in compliance with coding standardsPlan, develop, and execute integration and unit tests to ensure and maintain source code qualityConsult for verification test activitiesProvide timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issuesCoordinate configuration and release of embedded software and firmwareProvide technical mentorship to software engineers including, but not limited to, software architectural design decisions, code review and approvals, software verification planning
