Requirements
- We require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance before starting.
- We are looking for a bachelors degree in electronics or computer engineering, computer science, or an equivalent background.
- We need at least 5 years of hands‑on software development experience tied to modeling and simulation in training systems environments.
- We expect working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Unix‑based platforms such as Linux.
- We prefer familiarity with software development and diagnostic tools.
- A CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred; if you do not already hold it, it must be earned within six months of hire.
- We value experience with Assembly, C, C++, Microsoft .NET languages such as C# or VB, and Java.
- Experience with Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5/6/7 is desired.
- We also seek applicants with 4+ years of software development experience.
- Secret clearance is required.
- We require the ability to commute to Great Lakes, Illinois.
Responsibilities
- We design, build, document, test, integrate, and update operating systems and application software for aviation training systems.
- We develop, troubleshoot, and refine specialized utility programs and applications that support real‑time systems.
- We plan hardware and software integration efforts for aviation training system modifications.
- We create software solutions by assessing user needs, reviewing system flows, data usage, and work processes, and applying the software development lifecycle.
- We evaluate operational feasibility by analyzing problems, requirements, solution options, and proposed approaches.
- We prepare and present solution documentation through flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear source code.
