Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack TypeScript
Location: Westlake Village, CA
Duration: 14 Months+ Extension
Hourly Rate: Depending on Experience (DOE)
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing new features and enhancements for our pricing applications using TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.
- Writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks such as Cypress and Jest to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Deploying and managing applications and infrastructure on AWS using CDK/SAM, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, and Step Functions.
- Troubleshooting and resolving production issues to maintain system stability and performance.
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies including daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Collaborating with engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.
- Working with business analysts in cross‑team design sessions.
- Contributing to the improvement of development processes and tooling.
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of data pipelines and integrations for real‑time analytics.
- Collaborating with data engineers, architects, business stakeholders, and data consumers to gather requirements and design effective solutions.
- Participating in an on‑call rotation to provide support for critical systems during agreed‑upon hours (8 am EST – 5 pm PST primary coverage).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in full‑stack software development.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles and experience with testing frameworks and runners (e.g., Cypress, Jest, wdio, LambdaTest).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services including CDK/SAM, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, and Step Functions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, refactoring techniques, and unit testing best practices.
- Experience with Linux and open‑source software.
