Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)

This role provides technical leadership and hands-on engineering for end-to-end product delivery on Noetica, Thomson Reuters’ AI-powered deal intelligence platform. It is responsible for designing, building, and operating accurate, scalable, and well-architected backend-leaning full-stack systems that serve transactional professionals across legal and financial markets. Working in close partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering teams, this role ensures sound technical foundations, develops and maintains clean APIs and documentation, and leads continuous improvement across the platform’s services and infrastructure. The position champions reliable, observable, and automated solutions that strengthen system quality and elevate engineering efficiency.

Through strong cross-functional collaboration and technical ownership, this role safeguards engineering excellence, supports platform growth and transformation, and delivers consistent, scalable, customer-centered product experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate backend-leaning full-stack services, owning features from design through production.

Build and maintain RESTful APIs and clear API contracts that other teams and integrations depend on.

Work across SQL and NoSQL data stores, modeling data for scale, accuracy, and analytical value.

Containerize and deploy services with Docker and Kubernetes on AWS or GCP, owning reliability in production.

Contribute to the React and TypeScript frontend, partnering with design on customer-facing experiences.

Design event-driven, distributed systems using microservices, message queues, and data processing pipelines.

Own CI/CD, testing, and observability practices that keep delivery fast and systems healthy.

Partner with product and design to scope work, set technical direction, and raise the team’s engineering bar.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong backend engineering fundamentals: APIs, data modeling, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

Clear, confident communication with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Experience Required

4+ years of professional full-stack software engineering, with a strong backend focus.

Production experience with Node.js, Python, or Go.

RESTful API design and development at scale.

SQL and NoSQL databases in production systems.

Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or GCP.

TypeScript and React contribution on shipped products.

Distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices.

Preferred

Message queues (such as Kafka) and data processing pipelines at meaningful volume.

Startup or greenfield product experience; comfort owning 0-to-1 work.

Observability tooling, performance profiling, and cost-aware cloud architecture.
