About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer develops, maintains, andenhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g.,processing-intensiveanalytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large datasets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) basedupon documented requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Works individually or as part of a team.
• Reviews and tests software components foradherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and softwaredesign methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the softwarecomponents of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, softwarereuse, use ofCommercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) inplace of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from systemlevel to individual software components.

• Fourteen(14) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similarscope, type, and complexity is required. A Bachelor’s degree in ComputerScience or related discipline from an accreditedcollege oruniversity is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience onprojects with similar software processes may be substituted for abachelor’s degree.
• Analyzeuser requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Designand code new software or modify existing software to add new features
• Debugexisting software and correct defectsIntegrate existing software into newor modified systems or operating environments
• Developsimple data queries for existing or proposed databases or datarepositories
• Providerecommendations for improving documentation and software developmentprocess standards
• Developor implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance andfunctional standards
• Assistwith developing and executing test procedures for software components
• Writeor review software and system documentation
• Developsoftware solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer withusers or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and workprocesses; and investigate problem areas
• Serveas team lead at the level appropriate to the software development processbeing used on any particular project
• Modifyexisting software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
• Design,develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis andmathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences ofdesignDesign or implement complex database or data repositoryinterfaces/queries
• Overseeone or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed inaccordance with the constraints of the software development process beingused on any particular project
• Designor implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing,system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on teamproducts
• Conferwith system engineers and hardware engineers to derive softwarerequirements and to obtain information on project limitations andcapabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
• Coordinatesoftware system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensureoperational specifications are met
• Implementrecommendations for improving documentation and software developmentprocess standards

Salary Range 205-215,000

salary range provided is a general guideline. ISSI considersseveral factors when determining compensation, including the role’sresponsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current marketconditions.
