This role supports modeling, simulation, and operationally relevant systems across research and applied DoD programs.

These programs primarily involve, but not always, position, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems.This position requires deep technical expertise in software development and PNT fundamentals, with the ability to design and perform algorithm implementation, guide technical execution, and work across system, algorithm, and integration boundaries. The developer will work closely with systems engineers and hardware teams to design, analyze, and mature PNT capabilities in laboratory and field environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software supporting systems, simulations, and performance analysis environmentsLead development and implementation of algorithms grounded in first principles physics, including measurement modeling, error characterization, and estimator behavior under non ideal conditionsArchitect and integrate within software frameworks supporting simulation, analysis, and testIntegrate software with hardware- and software-in-the-loop (HITL& SITL) and digital twin environmentsDefine and develop interfaces between software components and external systemsLead and support test planning, execution, and analysis for PNT-focused experiments, demonstrations, and evaluationsCollaborate with systems engineers to align system requirements, hardware constraints, and software designsReview, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineersDocument software designs, algorithms, and test results to support technical reviews and customer deliverablesParticipate in team technical interchange meetings to describe technical activities, progress, issues, improvements, and moreRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical disciplineStrong verbal and written communications skills8+ years of professional experience developing software for technical systemsProficiency in C/C++ or Python with experience owning complex software components or frameworksExperience developing software on Linux and Windows based systemsStrong understanding of PNT concepts (e.g., Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSSs), inertial navigation, timing, sensor fusion) and associated error sourcesExperience integrating software with complex systems, simulations, or external hardware componentsAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearanceDesired QualificationsAdvanced experience with GPS/GNSS signal processing, navigation algorithms, or timing systemsExperience developing or evaluating alternative or resilient PNT approachesExperience with modeling, simulation, or digital twin environments supporting PNT analysisFamiliarity with real-time or embedded systemsExperience with HIL/SIL test architectures, laboratory integration, or field testingExperience supporting DoD programs, laboratory R&D, or operational prototyping effortsBasic Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 (For Beavercreek, OH Only) The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.Belong, Connect and Grow at KBR.
