Supporting the Long Term Care policy administration system, the full-time Senior Software Engineer - COBOL will monitor and resolve system issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and design, code, and test solutions while working in a hybrid environment in Lynchburg or Richmond, Virginia. Key responsibilities Monitor and resolve system failures, job abends, and policy-related incidents for the CLOAS application Analyze user-reported incidents, propose solutions, and implement changes following established processes Create reports for data analysis to support business activities and fulfill regulatory requirements Required qualifications 4-year college degree and relevant experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and IMS programming Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex business logic and system functionalities Basic experience with SQL and data analysis Experience in a cross-functional team environment, preferably in the insurance or finance domain Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to adapt to new technologies
