Senior Software Engineer

I'm working with a Chicago-based technology company that is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to their team.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both building new functionality and improving existing systems. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to new product initiatives while also driving modernization efforts across a mature platform, helping improve scalability, performance, and code quality. The team values practical problem-solving, ownership, and engineers who enjoy seeing their work make a direct impact on the business. This role operates on a hybrid schedule, with 1-2 days per week onsite in Chicago .

• Claude Code (used extensively for development workflows)

Desired Background

• Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools, particularly Claude Code
• Strong communication skills and comfort interacting directly with customers
• Ability to balance hands-on development work with business and user conversations

• Product-minded approach with a focus on delivering high-quality software
