SW Engineer PositionWe are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Physical Sciences and Systems group in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will join a project team designing, analyzing, and prototyping innovative multi-domain system architectures. You will contribute to an environment focused on embedded software generation, testing, and research with a focus in C++, C, and Linux.
Our world-class team works with a broad range of government agencies to solve problems that are both technically challenging and have a real operational impact.Examples of the types of challenging problems we work on include:Developing and implementing sophisticated detection, classification, localization, and tracking (DCLT) algorithms against state-of-the-art threats in high-noise environmentsDesigning and implementing complex software to optimize sensor system performanceDesigning and implementing software for the guidance and control of autonomous vehiclesSupporting real time evaluation of designs in realistic mission scenarios and operational analysisOptimizing algorithm designs for highest performanceThe candidate should be able to plan/direct/coordinate tasks or small projects involving multiple individuals. The candidate will participate in business development by contributing to proposals and white papers, and making effective presentations to our customers. This position may require some amount of overnight travel to support limited off-site testing.Qualifications you must have:Typically requires a bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field) and 5 years of relevant professional work experience, or a master's degree in the disciplines above plus 3 years' experience, or a PhDActive and transferable U.S.
government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S.
citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Prior experience in software design, simulation, analysis, and implementationPrior experience programming in C++ or another modern object-oriented language in the Linux development environmentQualifications we prefer:Experience with scripting languages such as Python and BashExperience with Linux development tools such as git, Valgrind, and gdbExposure to development libraries like Google FlatBuffers, Armadillo, and REST APIExperience with multithreaded applications, inter-process communication, and resource sharingDevelopment experience in systems with real-time processing requirements
