Role Description
As a Senior Software Engineer at Avtal, you will design, develop, and maintain back-end services that power our integrated digital communications and payment portal platform. You will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver secure, scalable features. Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting production issues, optimizing system performance, implementing APIs, and contributing to architectural decisions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX, where you will work with cross‑functional teams to continuously improve our technology stack and development practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Hands‑on experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
- Proficiency in Back‑End Web Development, including building and maintaining RESTful APIs and working with databases (SQL/NoSQL).
- Solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and performance optimization for high‑availability systems.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment, mentor less experienced engineers, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
