Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – AI-Native.

Location: Remote (U.S.) | Blue Bell, PA team.

Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099).

About the Opportunity

ZipStaff is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for an AI-native product team at a leading healthcare analytics organization.

You will build production Java / Spring Boot services and use Claude, Copilot, or similar as a daily engineering tool. This is not an ML / model-training role. Candidates who only write prompts or only do data science will not be a fit.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and enhance production Java / Spring Boot backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Use AI-assisted workflows (Claude, Copilot) for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Review and refine AI-generated code for correctness, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Integrate services with workflow platforms such as Temporal.io or Camunda.
• Help refine AI-native engineering standards under the Tech Lead
• Deliver features end-to-end with the AI-Native Tech Lead, data, and adjacent teams.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
• Follow secure coding and SDLC standards; support production issues.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud-native deploys (OpenShift/Kubernetes, AWS ).

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years professional backend / enterprise software engineering.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, and microservices , including REST APIs and integrations.
• Production delivery using AI-assisted tools (Claude, Copilot, or similar) in daily work.
• Strong debugging, code review, and ownership of quality.
• Relational databases / SQL (PostgreSQL or Oracle ), data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Event-driven / distributed systems.
• CI/CD, DevOps, and containers/cloud (OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS ).
• Exposure to workflow orchestration (Temporal, Camunda, Flowable, jBPM, or Drools ).
• BS/MS in CS, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Agile experience (SAFe preferred).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deeper Temporal.io / decision-automation experience.
• AI-native development standards and governance for AI-assisted code.
• Shared platforms, internal developer tools, or automation.
• Healthcare IT or other regulated environments.
