Senior Software Developer

Salary: $135,200 - 306,400 per year Requirements:

• We require 8+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems, developer platforms, CI/CD systems, infrastructure automation, or cloud services.
• We are looking for strong programming ability in Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar languages.
• We need experience operating dependable cloud services in OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• We value hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps, release automation, IaC, containers, orchestration, or deployment pipelines.
• You should be able to lead technical initiatives amid ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders are required.
• Preferred experience includes using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar agentic coding tools.
• Preferred experience includes reviewing, testing, and owning architecture for AI-generated code.
• Preferred experience includes using AI to explore codebases, create tests, refactor systems, improve documentation, or speed up migrations.
• Preferred experience includes building internal engineering platforms with a strong focus on developer experience and reliability.
• Preferred experience includes release orchestration, progressive rollout, rollback validation, and large-scale production deployments.

• We will lead the design, implementation, and operation of core Merino platform capabilities for OCI-scale CI/CD and change workflow orchestration.
• We will own architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, operational readiness, and production support.
• We will drive improvements in workflow reliability, deployment safety, scalability, observability, and developer experience.
• We will design systems that integrate build, release bundle, change management, approval, rollback, and deployment workflows.
• We will break down ambiguous platform challenges into durable engineering solutions.
• We will maintain high standards for code quality, system design, operational excellence, and maintainability.
• We will use production signals and customer feedback to prioritize platform enhancements.
• We will mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical leadership.
• We will partner across engineering and product teams to shape the Merino roadmap.
• We will champion effective use of AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows while preserving engineering rigor.
