Job Title: Senior Semi-Diesel Mechanic II+
Location: 1000 N Villa Ave, Villa Park, IL 60181
Company: Quality Parts and Repair (Division of DSL Express)
Job Type: Full-time (Part-time will be considered)
Salary: $35-$50 per hour (depending on experience and specialties)
Certifications Required: ASE Certification preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Level 2: Diagnostics & Electrical Specialist. Work duties may include any of the Level 1 objectives.
- Perform diagnostics and electrical repairs on semi-diesel engines.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks.
- Experience with industry-standard diagnostics software.
- Assist in performing DOT annual inspections on vehicles.
- May include some level 3 responsibility; will include some level 1 responsibility.
- Experience with truck tuning and diagnostics software suites.
- Diagnose and break-fix the old-fashioned way as needed.
- Level 3: Engine Work and Rebuilds. Work duties may also include any of the Level 1 and 2 objectives.
- Perform routine engine maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnose and repair engine-related issues.
- Ability to do full engine rebuilds and overhauls.
- Ability to perform transmission and turbo rebuilds is a bonus.
- Replace and refurbish parts.
- Maintain maintenance logs.
- Ensure services meet quality standards and safety procedures.
- Perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles.
- May involve Level 1 and 2 responsibilities from time to time.
- Work on high-skilled technical challenges with a top-notch technician mindset.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a semi-diesel mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- ASE Certification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience is a serious bonus.
- Military motor pool experience is desirable.
